Hookey and Inspiration

K, so today I played hookey for a little while and went on a walkabout. One of my main purposes of coming out here is to be inspired, so I took a little different approach to inspiration. Rather than sitting in a classroom for the afternoon, I chose to walk the Freedom Trail. It was worth it. It was hot as heck, but still not as hot as AZ. I, of course, thinking that it may get a little chilly wore my jacket. I ended up needing it because I needed the pockets, but other than that, it just made me hotter than I already was. Anyways, I ended up with a new appreciation for US history. I understand so much better now the real history behind the country that we are. We are a great country, founded by individuals with a vision for what life could be like. There wasn't a nation of people that were fighting against another nation of people, these were individuals who came here seeking freedom, and were willing to fight for it. They didn't have much, they made do with what they had. They didn't need much. They used what they had and overcame one of the world's strongest armies at the time. It's really incredible when you think of it. What fits for us, doesn't fit for everybody, so I don't think that everybody needs to be like the United States, but when there are individuals with vision, and they're willing to work towards that vision, they can succeed, our nation is built on the dreams of those people.

Anyways, enough of that...I took some cool pictures. It's mostly architecture and stuff, but still cool pictures...

Lunch and a Quick Video Message

Well, it's lunch time. After just 2 sessions, I feel inspired. There's so much that I have never thought of doing with Flash, it's amazing. I also have made contact with two people. One brought an acoustic bass and wants to jam (maybe) and another person wants to go check out some live music. He's local, and he says they're close, so hopefully I'll get to do that one of these nights.

I'm also taking pictures and putting them on here, and also loading them onto Flickr with the tag of "flashforward". They are in the "Flashforward Boston" group.

Just a few pictures I've taken so far...nothing great...yet...

I think I'm gonna eat lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen. I know, it's not very "Bostonie", but I'm cravin' pizza big time right 'bout now. There's a place called "Legal Seafood" or something like that, I guess it's supposed to have great seafood, I think I'm gonna go there sometime too.
So, Here is a quick message for my family...

I'm having a great time, and feeling superinspired. I'm glad I'm here, even if I do miss the heck out of my family.

The Gym and The Useless Gadget

So, I found a USB cable at Walgreens, but I had to buy a useless gadget. I guess its not totally useless...here...see...

It's a keychain that holds pictures. It needed a USB cable to connect to the computer, and it came with it, sweet, that's what I needed. I'll find a use for the gadget I'm sure... Plus, I got some Hot Tamales, so life's good.

Speaking of Hot Tamales, I found the gym and went. Go me. They had a stairmaster, so I killed myself on that this evening. It felt good to be active though.

So it's only 7:53 in AZ, but it's 11:53 here, and my @ss should be in bed, but its not, because I can't sleep.

Here's the view from my room. I want to see how good this video works before I start posting more video on here.

I didn't have much time to take pictures today, but I'm gonna take a whole bunch tomorrow. I picked up some extra batteries and everything, so I'm good to go.

Ok guys, well, you all sleep good. I miss you baby Koe. Oliver, be a good boy and help mommy becuase you're the man of the house while I'm gone. Simon Simon Simon Simon, you be good. I love you guys to pieces! Good night!

Here in Boston...

The plane ride was great! I didn't have anybody sitting next to me, so I was able to spread out. The guy one seat over from me didn't want to talk much either, which was good too. Oceans 13 was the movie on the flight over, and since I hadn't seen that, it was good to see. It's a great flick, if you haven't seen it, I recommend it, highly. We also flew over Niagara Falls, so that was cool to see from 37,000 feet. Ok, more just like something to notice, but still, probably the closest I'll ever come to it...

Boston is beautiful! I had no idea it was this beautiful. There are parks with little lakes and green grass and trees and people running and playing sports everywhere. Nothing like crappy AZ where nobody goes outside except to get into the pool, then come back in because you're afraid of what the sun might to do you. Ugh.

I'm excited to be here, I plan to grow professionally and personally while I'm here. I really, really, really, really....really miss my family. I love you guys! I'll be home on Saturday, so don't forget to pick me up! Just because I forgot to pick you up in Globe once and left you sitting at Chevron for an hour does not mean you can do the same to me!

I hope to get some good pictures while I'm here, and also to play a little guitar. I'll upload some pics when I get a USB cable for the camera. I left without one. I saw a Walgreens though, and I'll bet I can get one there. I may have to buy some useless electronic gadget that uses a USB cable to get one, but if that's what I gotta do, then that's what I'll do.

I also plan on making some friends here. I've already tried a few times, but some of these people are just too weird. Too comfortable in there nerdom, and socially inept maybe. I vow to make at least one friend. If I end up being the wierdo who talks to everybody, then so be it.

I'm gonna go explore the hotel now, find the pool and the exercise room. I have a goal to use both every night that I'm here. so we'll see how that goes.

I'll try to post later with some pictures. Love Ya!
